A Message on the Recent Election
From the beginning of the United States, taverns and bars have been intertwined in the democratic process of the country. Bars serve as gathering places for discourse and community. Taverns continue to this day as official polling places. Town halls have been held here. Public policy has been shaped here. Wins celebrated, losses grieved and lessons have been learned here. People have agreed, and people have disagreed; sometimes vehemently.
This week's election continued the unique experiment of America - a peaceful process used by the people to choose our next leadership.
The United States Bartenders' Guild worked to encourage the voices of more than 700,000 bartenders to be heard on Tuesday. We look forward to expanding on our engagement in civic participation and advocacy into the new year and beyond.
