That's a Wrap for Behind the Barrel 2024!

Returning for its ninth season in 2024, the Behind the Barrel program was an unforgettable educational bourbon experience sponsored by Wild Turkey & Wilderness Trail.

Associate Blender Bruce Russell and Co-Founder Dr. Pat Heist poured their expertise forward to the bartending community, as they mentored the next generation of bourbon makers, advocates, and enthusiasts.

BTB 2024This year, 90 bartenders were selected to visit Wild Turkey and Wilderness Trail Distilleries, where they gained invaluable insights into the Wild Turkey legacy, explored how science can be leveraged for innovative bourbon production, and created unforgettable memories with the Russell family.

The 2024 Behind the Barrel program included two Spring Tours that took place April 24-27 and April 28-May 1, as well as one Fall Tour from September 18-21. This one of a kind 4-day 3-night trip, provided participants with an immersive Wild Turkey & Wilderness Trail experience that included distillery tours, skeet shooting, bourbon challenges, an epic Thanksgiving dinner with Jimmy Russell, and camaraderie with their fellow bartenders.
